Elliott, we completely agree with you that there are certainly careless people out there who are not very good citizens and treat the beach like their own trash can. It has been proven though that once a dog beach is established with set rules and a body of volunteers monitoring the area, the beach is kept fairly clean and free of poop and trash. Thank you for the note.

I would like all of you dog lovers out there to know i have a dog and live on the beach. Everyday i walk and play with my dog on the beach, always picking up dog poop, i can't always pick them all up. I mean 10 to 20 a day. I am talking about an area of less than a city block long, it is terrible ! My wife and i are constantly asking dog owners to please pick up after them. If we were to have a dog park on the beach it would never be clean. If you think i am wrong please, "PLEASE", come walk along our beach in Playa Del Rey south of Culver boulevard and see for yourself. I am sorry, but this area is not ready for a dog park where people will not clean up after their pets. I pray that dog owners get more responsible for the actions of their pets so we can one day have a beautiful beach dog park. Don't even talk to me about litter on the beach, maybe put there by the same pigs that will not pick up after their pets. Maybe $ 350.00 tickets for letting your dog poop without
picking it up is the answer for paying for future dog parks. Anybody
got the mayors ear ?

I live in Inglewood with my dog (Mystikal). We drive / used the dog park in El Segundo 5-7 times a week. Mystikal is a water dog and sad as it is, He has never seen or play at the Beach. I am disable an unable traval as far as I used to. Growing up in Santa Barbara CA. I always had a dog at my side or at the beach. I realy belive that El Segundo need a Dog Beach Park. It would used by the dog owners / lovers that live in El Segundo or in the close by communities.
It could also be a nice place for people who have no pets/dogs to sit at the beach and watch dogs play and enjoy the water.

I'd love to help in any way I can. This dog beach would be a great addition to the community. Give our furry friends and their owners a chance to enjoy the sand and surf together!
